FOR BREAKFAST NERVOUS BOUNDARIES

‘Nervous Boundaries’ is lifted from the brand new EP by London-based seven-piece For Breakfast. The band are constantly breaking genre boundaries with their experimental sound, and this pulsating track demonstrates that. Swirling flute melodies are interspersed amongst grating distorted guitars and a punchy, dancey rhythmic backbone. It’s a live favourite for a reason and great to hear its studio counterpart. On the eclectic four-track EP, they say: “We never deliberately set out to explore any specific themes, but there are definite images and emotions that materialise; in this case, yearning, fear, joy - an openness, or a desire for it. Trees, walls, and water.” Give Trapped In The Big Room a listen now. -Dan Peeke.
